Abstract

PLANELLA, Jordi. Contemporary alterity: bad conscience due to Auschwitz's fracture. Alteridades [online]. 2007, vol.17, n.33, pp.121-126. ISSN 2448-850X.

This article starts out from the hypothesis that the fracture caused in Europe (just as in other societies) by the Shoah has been interpreted as a state of bad conscience that is still present in contemporary societies. In the core of this fracture, the bodies of the alter ego are found as well as the attempt of their dissolution through extermination practices.

Keywords : Shoah; embodiment; alter ego body; bad conscience.
