Abstract

ARAIZA DIAZ, Erika; MARTINEZ GONZALEZ, Roberto  and  LUGO SILVA, Francisco. Present time Archeology and incidental graffiti in Ciudad Universitaria. Alteridades [online]. 2008, vol.18, n.36, pp.161-171. ISSN 2448-850X.

The main goal of this article is to study the graffiti manifestations as an archaeological material. In this work we study a kind of graffiti that may be produced and ridden by all the society members. By the comparison of different messages impressed, by men and women, on the pavements, over the desks and over the restroom's walls of Ciudad Universitaria, we'll define the meanings of those kinds of spaces in their users' mid. As a result of this analysis we'll show that the graffiti discourse is constructed over two different axes: the public-private axe and the long-lasting-short-lasting axe.

Keywords : graffiti; spatial conception; UNAM; public places; archaeology of today.
