Abstract

KROTZ, Esteban. Teaching Latin American Anthropology within the Southern syllabi and ideological and theoretical problems. Alteridades [online]. 2011, vol.21, n.41, pp.9-19. ISSN 2448-850X.

It talks about the surge of second anthropologies and the beginning of its systematic study, highlighting the critical characteristics in the current Latin American anthropologies, seen as part of the Southern Anthropologies and how they came out of a process of dissemination in Latin America. We propose to study them using Guillermo BonfiVs theory of cultural control. We identify key elements for teaching "our own anthropology", in the sense of promoting an anthropology that moves from one set in the South to one from the very South.

Keywords : anthropologies from the South; our own anthropology; Latin American anthropologies; theory of cultural control; the teaching of anthropology.
