Abstract

This work is an analysis on the way journalism is carried out by two press media in Chili and Peru on the other nation. To meet their goals, the following steps are taken: an evaluation on how the journals El Comercio (Peru) and La Cuarta (Chili) cover news events which strengthen a sense of belonging to their nations; a critical discourse analysis on common news of these massive written media in order to study the news coverage carried out on the others. A description on how these media contributes to the social construction of reality in their respective countries.
