Abstract

ARAIZA DIAZ, Alejandra. Epistemología de género: las mujeres zapatistas de Roberto Barrios. Polít. cult. [online]. 2004, n.22, pp.125-145. ISSN 0188-7742.

This article addresses, from the viewpoint of gender epistemology, the problems faced by Zapatista women in a community that is a keystone of EZLN support and they way in which they are beginning to organize and offer resistance in a broader context of war and struggle. Thus, the women of Roberto Barrios are struggling, along with other indigenous women in other social movements and locations, for very similar demands. And, with their efforts, they are overcoming the adverse conditions of their gender, thereby fueling hope for the women of future generations.

Keywords : gender; indigenous people; struggle; women; transformations.
