The present article tries to deepen in the constitution of cultural actors in Mexico by means of the analysis of the existing tension between nostalgia, inside a regulating structure of the national symbolic contents, and the acceptance of the rules of the global market; this will be supported with the study of the present construction of the identity properties on the traditional musicians of Veracruz and the processes of recognition and artistic creation that they have established with the transnational communities of California.
