Abstract

Usually, mathematics courses that support the training of professionals in various areas of expertise are mainly focused on the resolution of problems from that area. However, this discipline allows achieving a broader and deeper purpose than just becoming an instrumental support for the analysis and solving of problems. This is: the development of logical thinking. We also affirm that it helps in a clear and blunt manner to the metacognition development, and thus to the ability of learning to learn. This work argues the why of these statements.
