INTRODUCTION:

The SARS CoV 2 outbreak has affected 29,000 pregnant women in America until August 2020. In Mexico, COVID-19 is the leading cause of maternal death, 8.1 deaths are reported per 100,000 NBs. Reports published by the WHO indicate a greater risk in pregnant women of presenting severe forms of COVID-19

OBJECTIVES:

To describe the obstetric results of the infection by SARS COV 2 in a second level Hospital.

MATERIAL AND METHODS:

Descriptive, observational, cross-sectional, retrospective and homodemic study, from February to July 2020 at the HGZN. Obstetric patients of any age with a diagnosis of COVID-19 by RT-PCR were included. Patients transferred to another unit, with voluntary discharge or those with incomplete records were excluded. Descriptive statistics were performed.

RESULTS:

14 patients were included. Mean gestational age of 29.3, 78.5% were multigrain and 21.4% were primiparous. The mean age was 22.6 with SD5; 71.4% had obesity or overweight as a comorbidity. Regarding the presentation symptoms, 28.4% had a cough, 14.2% fever and 14.2% cough, fever, odynophagia and diarrhea. Most were mild (71.4%) and 28.5% moderate. 14.2% had a normal chest CT and 85.7% suggestive of COVID-19. 42.8% concluded the pregnancy by cesarean section, 28.5% by delivery and 28.5% were abortions. We found 8 patients with complications, 21.4% presented hemorrhage, 21.4% abortion, 7.1% hypertensive disease and admissipn to the ICU.

CONCLUSIONS:

The review showed that the associated morbidity was obesity as in the rest of the adult population, cardinal symptoms were cougt and fever, the severity was mild and moderate, showing less deleterious maternal results compared to other publications. No maternal deaths were reported and there was no evidence of vertical infection in either case.
