Co-generation programs are very profitable at facilities that realize industrial processes with a strong relationship between heat and electricity, and in these where there are major economic benefits for co-generation projects. Pemex's processes are in this situation. In this company there exists a great potential for co-generation, much greater than the entire present installed co-generation capacity in Mexico. It is sought to create legal possibilities so that this can be realized with the greatest possible efficiency. However, postures can also be detected that do not see this technological alternative in a good light.
