Abstract

FUENTES, Noé Arón. ¿Es posible un crecimiento económico regional endógeno en Latinoamérica?. Prob. Des [online]. 2006, vol.37, n.146, pp.9-29. ISSN 0301-7036.

The aim of this article is to show that, within the context of the Hartman and Seckler model, it is possible that a regional economy with credible values for its parameters can generate a temporal trajectory of endogenous economic growth in a self-sustaining way independent of the growth of the export sector. The conclusion suggests that the Latin American economies -characterized by the importance of external demand and the insufficiency of their internal demand- should concentrate on endogenous sources of growth as well as on changes in external demand.

Keywords : dynamic model; endogenous growth; Latin America.
