Abstract

LOPEZ-RIASCOS, Suleydi Daniela; RIVAS-RAMIREZ, Christian  and  CARRILLO-TORRES, Orlando. Locally applied sevoflurane: an analgesic and therapeutic alternative in difficulty chronic skin ulcers. Rev. mex. anestesiol. [online]. 2019, vol.42, n.4, pp.268-274.  Epub Aug 23, 2021. ISSN 0484-7903.

Chronic ulcers in the lower limbs are frequent, mainly in pathologies of vascular origin and cause a decrease in the patients’ quality of life, due to the time and cost of the treatment, especially when they are refractory to conventional therapeutic and analgesic measures. Those who present these lesions usually suffer from comorbidities that require multiple drugs for their control, so it is necessary to use alternatives, which reduce the risk of drug interactions and adverse effects. One of them is considered the local application of sevoflurane, as an anesthetic technique in the surgical lavage and/or debridement of ulcers, due to the rapid, intense and long-lasting analgesia it produces.

Keywords : Sevofluorane; pain; ulcers.
