Abstract

GARCIA-COLIN SCHERER, Leopoldo. El desarrollo de la química en México: físico-química y áreas afines. Rev. Soc. Quím. Méx [online]. 2001, vol.45, n.3, pp.123-127. ISSN 0583-7693.

This paper is devoted to a critical analysis concerning the development of physical chemistry and related areas in this country during the past twentieth century. The most relevant conclusion of this analysis is that within the already meager natural development of chemistry as a pure science, physical chemistry is not even at is infancy. Wether or not this situation has a solution within a reasonable time is quite doubtful mainly due to the very poor teaching of the subject in elementary and upper-grammar schools.

Keywords : Physical chemistry; chemistry; research and development; education; industrial research.
