ECHEVARRIA-MACHADO, Ileana; LOYOLA-VARGAS, Víctor M. and HERNANDEZ-SOTOMAYOR, S.M. Teresa. La proteína del retinoblastoma en las plantas. Rev. Soc. Quím. Méx [online]. 2002, vol.46, n.1, pp.17-22. ISSN 0583-7693.
Retinoblastoma protein regulates the G1/S transition in mammals and it is part of signal transduction mechanism that connects cellular cycle clock with cellular transcriptional machinery. Recently it was detected in plants and it is suggested that it should play an important role in cellular proliferation, plant development and viral infection processes; for this reason, knowledge its function could be a valuable tool in the comprehension of this kind of process in plants.
Keywords : Retinoblastoma protein; plants; celular cycle.
