Abstract

ROMERO, Artemisa et al. Toxicidad crónica en ratones del herbicida Dicamba y su derivado 2-metoxi-3,6-diclorobenzaldoxima. Rev. Soc. Quím. Méx [online]. 2003, vol.47, n.1, pp.77-80. ISSN 0583-7693.

Toxic effect of herbicide Dicamba (2-methoxy-3,6-dichlorobenzoic acid) and its derivative oxime (2-methoxy-3,6-dichlorobenzaldoxime) was studied, for chronic dosing on mice at 0.20 g / kg of Dicamba, 0.49 and 0.83 g / kg of oxime, during two months, two times a week. By direct observations of animal aspect and behavior: they depressed at the start, but a few minutes after Dicamba dosing, they recovered completely; however, they weaken gradually by oxime aplication, and also, at high dose, they developed an encapsulated pyogenic abscess. Histopathologic studies of hepatic and renal tissue, of both, Dicamba and oxime treated mice reveled severe tissular damage.

Keywords : Herbicides; Dicamba; Chronic toxicity.
