Abstract

LAREDO, Georgina C.; FIGUEROA, Yolanda  and  JIMENEZ-CRUZ, Federico. Comparación de los métodos analíticos existentes para la determinación del contenido de compuestos aromáticos presentes en el petróleo y sus derivados. Rev. Soc. Quím. Méx [online]. 2003, vol.47, n.3, pp.267-274. ISSN 0583-7693.

An updated review of the analytical techniques implemented for determining aromatic content in petroleum refining products is described here. According to our literature search, the column chromatographic (CC) method, the high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) and the super fluid chromatography (SFC) are the most appropriate techniques for performing this kind of analysis. HPLC and SFC techniques supply the chemical distribution of the studied fuel as additional advantage. In addition, we report mathematical relationships that can be used for convert the results obtained by one specific technique to another, convenient for comparisons between experimental and literature data.

Keywords : Crude Oil; Middle Distillates; Aromatic Content; Characterization; Correlation.
