Abstract

MORENO CORONA, Andrés Raymundo  and  LOPEZ ESPINOSA, Guillermo. Transduodenal ampulectomy, alternative in treatment of a case of adenoma in Vater ampula. Cir. gen [online]. 2018, vol.40, n.4, pp.282-285. ISSN 1405-0099.

The neoplasms in Vater’s ampulla are infrequent lesions, the conventional treatment consists of the Whipple procedure (duodenopancreatectomy), which is the standard treatment for malignant neoplasia. In the clinical case, a patient with a benign lesion of the Vater (adenoma) is presented, for which an ampulectomy is proposed for management of the pathology with the expectation of obtaining optimal therapeutic results and with lower morbidity and mortality than conventional treatment. Ampulectomy was performed with 5 mm surgical margins, without postsurgical complications, pathology studies reported tubular adenoma with clean margins, with endoscopy controlled at eight months without the presence of recurrence, so it is proposed as a surgical alternative in a patient with benign pathology Vater ampulla.

Keywords : Ampulectomy; adenoma; Vater ampulla.
