Abstract

GARAY-LECHUGA, Daniel; LEON-GONZALEZ, Mónica; AFYA, Avi  and  OLVERA-LUNA, Alba Grisel. Circumferential perforation of duodenal ulcer. Management of the duodenal stump and literature review. Cir. gen [online]. 2021, vol.43, n.3, pp.198-201.  Epub June 02, 2023. ISSN 1405-0099.  https://doi.org/10.35366/108574.

Peptic duodenal ulcer perforation is becoming a less frequent entity since the appearance of antihistaminics H2 and proton-pump inhibitors. Treatment depends on the extension of the lesion; from conservative management to emergency laparotomy. There is a report of an infrequent condition with an unusual presentation and literature review related to duodenal stump management.

Keywords : duodenal ulcer; perforated ulcer; duodenal stump; surgery.
