After analyzing value pluralism, the author proposes an interpretation of human rights as plural values. In order to exemplify the sort of moral and legal conflicts which may be posed by pluralism, she examines a well known jurisprudential case. Finally, multiculturalism and cosmopolitanism are introduced as patterns of political philosophy for the understanding of plural societies.
