The Act of cooking is a cultural product where production, presentation and consumption are loaded with strong social meanings. As it was the case of the Mexico City's elite in early 20th century who wanted to communicate certain interests as the distinction through the good taste or to form part of the cosmopolitan world. On linguistic artifacts created at diferent meals times that were part of the daily habits of this social group, the minute of the day evidenced such interest aimed to demonstrate that progress and modernity were served at the table.
