Abstract

PIERRE-ANTOINE, Fabre. From the old Company of Jesus to the new: Branches for a Discursive Heritage. Hist. graf [online]. 2014, n.43, pp.77-102. ISSN 1405-0927.

The pertinence of working with Jesuit correspondence began in the moment I became interested in what is denominated as "spiritual literature", particularly in the moment of it's great flourishing during the XVIIth century. My principal objective was to try to answer the enigma of its own possibility as a literature constituted as a model of interlocution bound with relations of spiritual direction: only through its constitution as such was it guaranteed the gesture of directing -not itself, but as an circumstantial gesture- as an act of self love.

Keywords : correspondence; Jesuits; literature; writing; communication.
