Abstract

BJERG, María. Conjugal Violence, Senses, Sensitivity and Emotions. Reflections on a Research Path. Hist. graf [online]. 2024, n.62, pp.303-321.  Epub Jan 26, 2024. ISSN 1405-0927.  https://doi.org/10.48102/hyg.vi62.495.

This paper reflects on the results of recent research. It outlines a new project inspired by the history of emotions and the history of sensibilities, which examines various types of violence perpetrated against women (from moral and physical abuse to murder) by husbands or cohabitants within the domestic domain in Argentina between 1890 and the late 1950s. The main aim is to shed light on the emotional configurations that enabled violence and the sensitivity thresholds towards it.

Keywords : conjugal violence; emotions; sensitivity threshold.
