Abstract

MARQUES LEON, Maylín et al. Model to Planning Medications and Materials of Medical Use in Hospital Institutions. Gest. polít. pública [online]. 2017, vol.26, n.spe, pp.79-124. ISSN 1405-1079.

The study of practice in both international and national hospital management about the planning of resources —as well as the situation of several institutions investigated by the authors of this article—, identifies failures in the systems of planning of medications and medical materials in hospitals, which lead to insufficient management and utilization of these resources. The article aims to develop a planning model for medicines and materials for medical use focused on the clinical characteristics of patients and their specific procedures, contributing to the best management and use of these resources in hospital institutions. The accomplishments in the application of the model proposed reflect several improvements in the management of its resources, given by the incorporation of demand forecasts, aggregate and master planning of services and the capacity planning of hospital processes.

Keywords : hospital management; medications planning; material of medical use; model.
