Medical Ethnobotany is one of the key components that maintain the health of the inhabitants, they have their roots in past generations and were transmitted orally to the present day, incorporating all social, economic and environmental changes. Based on the National Folklore Survey of 1921 generated by teachers from all over the province, the data preserved in microfilms were systematized and compared with current ethnobotanical data present in specialized publications. Currently the validity of 94% of the spp identified is registered, and the abandonment, transformations and resignifications in the use and perception of the 205 medicinal plants mentioned more than 100 years ago, accounting for the vitality of the ethnobotanical cultural heritage.
