Abstract

BUENO-AGUILAR, Graciela; ARJONA-SUAREZ, Enrique  and  SANTIAGO-ZARAGOZA, Lourdes. A simulation model for the analysis of new operating policies in a corn flour production plant. Agrociencia [online]. 2011, vol.45, n.2, pp.207-220. ISSN 2521-9766.

A simulation model was constructed of a corn flour production plant for the purpose of evaluating new operating policies of the plant as an alternative to carrying out in situ experiments that could have been uncontrollable, or very costly. The developed model was validated by the production management of the plant, and with this model the processes of the plant were analyzed under diverse inputs, inventories and operating policies, selecting the most appropriate. The model is of a high level of abstraction and was easily understandable for the plant personnel.

Keywords : activity approach; discrete models; operating policies; industrial processes.
