Abstract

GUTIERREZ SILLAS, Enrique. Tiempo libre y calidad de vida desde el sí mismo docente. RMIE [online]. 2008, vol.13, n.38, pp.867-890. ISSN 1405-6666.

Exploring the quality of life and free time from the perspective of self is a difficult theoretical and experiential task for teachers. This study integrates important categories for explaining how teachers experience self in their daily interaction and how they perceive their quality of life and use of free time. The comparison took place in the schools of psychology, architecture, and computer science at Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa, where six professors were interviewed: one male and one female from each school. The compiled information was interpreted through an analysis of discursive content, in teacher-determined conceptual categories. Within the vast experiential world of teachers, much research is lacking to progress from a photographic session of teacher behavior to a computerized tomography that reveals more information in this respect.

Keywords : professors; perception; free time; quality of life; higher education; Mexico.
