Abstract

LIZARRAGA NAVARRO, Glenda Zoé. Kinds of Words in Textbooks. RMIE [online]. 2011, vol.16, n.49, pp.389-414. ISSN 1405-6666.

Within the teaching/learning process, children in the early years of elementary school encounter a series of concepts like noun, verb, adjective, adverb, preposition, and conjunction, which they must use to solve problems and complete exercises involving the study of their native language. This article presents the concept of the kinds of words introduced in the free Spanish textbook for elementary education, written in the framework of the educational reform of 2009. A description is given of the linguistic criteria employed to define types of words, and an analysis is made of the problems of content.

Keywords : quality of education; public education; language teaching; textbooks; linguistics; Mexico.
