Abstract
BAHENA MENDOZA, Iván. Construction of National Identity among Secondary School Students in the Municipality of Nezahualcóyotl. RMIE [online]. 2015, vol.20, n.64, pp.241-262. ISSN 1405-6666.
The objective of this article is to identify the configuration of national identity among secondary school students in the municipality of Nezahualcóyotl, Estado de México, Mexico. The study uses narrative as a research methodology and employs an empirical qualitative approach, based on participants' arguments. The research recognizes the presence of two categories for designing national identity: the first, called objective referents, and the second, subjective referents. Based on an analysis of these elements, the study infers the construction of national identity, defined as romantic, among secondary school students.
