PIECK GOCHICOA, Enrique; VICENTE-DIAZ, Martha Roxana and GARCIA CASTANEDA, Víctor Gabriel. Vocational Training as a Space for Subjectivation: The Influence of Two Linking Strategies. RMIE [online]. 2019, vol.24, n.82, pp.691-718. Epub Feb 20, 2020. ISSN 1405-6666.
In the framework of the problematic aspects of vocational training, this article analyzes the influence of training programs on the educational and employment trajectories of students in situational vulnerability. The study uses a qualitative perspective focused on past experience. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with forty graduates of two programs that are characterized by their institutional relationships. The concepts employed in the analysis include agency, resilience, trajectory, and subjectivity. The results show the influence of programs in three dimensions: personal, vocational, and educational. The conclusions emphasize the graduates’ capabilities in agency and resilience in overcoming situational vulnerability, thanks to the positive impact of the programs. Proof is provided by the graduates’ interest in returning to school, obtaining better jobs, and seeking personal growth.
