The objective of this research is to explore the environmental sensitivity and commitment of teachers at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City; the study considers the teachers' self-perception of their teaching practices as an essential part of greening the curriculum. To attain the research objective, an empirical study was carried out. Data were obtained from a questionnaire completed by a nonprobability sample consisting of 252 teachers. The results show the pertinence that the teachers assign to the processes of incorporating sustainability in teaching, as well as the viability of institutional efforts directed to training teachers in sustainability.

Keywords : environmental awareness; teaching; self-perception; education for sustainable development.
