PIECK GOCHICOA, Enrique and VICENTE-DIAZ, Martha Roxana. Collaboration between Job Training Institutions and High Schools in Mexico. RMIE [online]. 2020, vol.25, n.84, pp.179-204. Epub June 19, 2020. ISSN 1405-6666.
This article analyzes and evaluates the collaboration between the Secretary of Education's job training institutions (Dirección General de Centros de Formación para el Trabajo) and high schools in Mexico. It is based on research on collaboration in Mexico, in order to analyze the various types and dimensions that characterize such collaboration. The analysis is supplemented by research on the collaboration between a job training institute (Instituto de Capacitación para el Trabajo) and the technical high schools in the state of Chihuahua, México--a study based on focus groups with students, teachers, and administrators. The information is enriched by three accounts of experiences in Mexico. One of the outstanding results is the pertinence and importance of these collaborations in offering a component of effective job training and quality for high school students.
