Abstract

ZARZUELA CASTRO, Ana  and  GARCIA GARCIA, Mayka. What Do Preservice Teachers Learn in a Curricular Itinerary of Service-Learning?. RMIE [online]. 2020, vol.25, n.86, pp.657-687.  Epub Dec 02, 2020. ISSN 1405-6666.

This article presents research aimed at understanding the contributions of Service-Learning methodology in pre-service teacher education in a specific case: a curricular itinerary from the degree of Early Childhood Education at Universidad de Cádiz (Spain). Unlike other types of proposals, the current case consists of three subjects in sequential learning. The results of the study, guided by a critical, articulated focus and qualitative methodology, were extracted from the reflections of 446 participating students during the 2017-2018 school year. They reveal the model's concrete contributions to learning, which not only connects directly with the subjects where the model is inserted, but also transcends them.

Keywords : higher education; teacher education; educational methods.
