Abstract
ROLDAN, Luis Ángel; ZABALETA, Verónica and BARREYRO, Juan Pablo. Effects of a Proposal to Improve the Reading Comprehension of Secondary School Students. RMIE [online]. 2021, vol.26, n.89, pp.575-594. Epub June 04, 2021. ISSN 1405-6666.
The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effects of a program to improve reading comprehension. The study was conducted within the framework of the Citizenship class of first-year students in an Argentine secondary school. A total of 63 students took part in a quasi-experimental study, which used pre-test and post-test assessment, and a control group. The results show that the intervention had effects on effective reading, inferences, general comprehension, and knowledge of the subject taught in the class where the program was implemented. The findings are discussed in light of the importance of contextualizing intervention proposals according to the demands of the school environment.
