Abstract

EMILIOZZI, Sergio  and  UNZUE, Martin. Local Labor Market and the Demands of Internationalization of Doctoral Degrees in Social Sciences in Argentina. RMIE [online]. 2021, vol.26, n.91, pp.1143-1166.  Epub Dec 13, 2021. ISSN 1405-6666.

The aim of this article is to research the characteristics of employment of individuals holding recent doctoral degrees in the social sciences in Argentina and the complex relationship with the demands of internationalization. The project is based on a survey of more than 800 holders of doctoral degrees in the social sciences in Argentina. The results indicate that the labor market of this group of individuals is primarily academic; at the same time, low international mobility is observed during doctoral study as well as after graduation, along with the respondents' expressed intent to seek employment abroad. The conclusion is that the demand of internationalization by the holders of doctoral degrees requires new approaches in public policy.

Keywords : doctoral degree; social sciences; employment; science and technology.
