FARMER, Paul. Desigualdades sociales y enfermedades infecciosas emergentes. Pap. poblac [online]. 2000, vol.6, n.23, pp.181-201. ISSN 2448-7147.

The 90's has been the most astounding in the long history of infectious diseases, among them, appear the Emergent Infection Disease (EIE) which have spread at explosive rhythm. Some of them like AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) and the brazilian purple fever are consider new once, and others have etiology agents, just identified and that have grown in a dramatic way, like the syndromes cause by the Hantaan's virus. Responsible factors of this include ecologic changes, climate anomalies, demographic changes and human behavior, the human development and the adaptation and change of the microbes. In this article there are examined how they arise, where from, and where the EIE goes, as well as the differences in social position that cause the spreading in certain groups.
