Abstract
PAPAIL, Jean. Internacional migration and families in the eastern-center part of Mexico. Pap. poblac [online]. 2003, vol.9, n.36, pp.109-131. ISSN 2448-7147.
The mexican international emigration strongly developed during the last 20 years. Flows of migrants of urban origin became gradually dominating in the migratory streams, particularly in the traditional area of the emigration (states of Jalisco, Michoacan, Guanajuato, Zacatecas). This migration has as a corollary, the expansion of monetary flows with their family in Mexico. These transfers are used in major part for the needs for reproduction of the families of migrants. During the 2 last decades, an increasing fraction of these transfers were used for the creation of micro companies managed by the wives of the migrants or those after their return to Mexico, thus allowing the reconversion of a great part of them in employees as contractors through the migratory process, and the creation of jobs. However, these new jobs do not appear to constitute a brake of the migratory flows directed towards the neighbour country.
