Abstract

MASCIADRI, Viviana. Intergenerational transmission of divorce? Epistemological tensions between confluent disciplines. Pap. poblac [online]. 2012, vol.18, n.74, pp.01-30. ISSN 2448-7147.

Although divorce should not be examined from the health-disease perspective, there is abundant bibliography that executes said conceptual operation; not only do the bibliography on mental health contributes in such sense, also Sociology, Economy and the multidisciplinary field of Demography stimulate the crystallization of that episteme. It is enough to remember the notion of Durkheim on the weakening of the matrimonial regulation or conjugal anomie, which would explain the parallel growth of divorces and suicides. This work examines the epistemological tensions between the confluent disciplines in the demographic studies in this topic in the lat five decades.

Keywords : Conjugal unions; stability; instability; intergenerational transmission; divorce.
