Abstract

GOMEZ, Luis E.. 1968: Demographics and student movements. Pap. poblac [online]. 2015, vol.21, n.85, pp.255-290. ISSN 2448-7147.

This academic essay is a historical, sociological and demographic study of student movements of 1968 and particularly of the Mexican student movement of that year. Historical and population behaviors it correlates with the events are given, and in this correlation plausible explanations for such events. It shows the development of the student movement just to the events of October 2 of that year and its dissolution. This essay concludes with the recognition of some influences that the movement has had on the political development of the Mexican nation, and finds some proposals made by the movement that have not been fulfilled yet forty- seven years later.
