This paper presents the results of an inquest that was applied in Duarte; locality in the municipality of Leon, Guanajuato with high rates of international migration. The work includes a first approach to the analysis of relationships among couples in which the husband migrates United States. The questionnaire in question was applied to deepen the characteristics of international migration observed in the town and also a set of questions was included to be answered by wives of migrants in order to characterize the conjugal relations that are experienced in this context of migration male to United States. As a result of the survey, in addition to corroborate that Duarte international migration is a quantitatively important phenomenon (covering 60 percent of registered houses), data are offered around the relationships within the family and about how Duarte as women experience conjugal relations.

Keywords : Male migration; marital relations; gender; Guanajuato.
