Abstract

The concern of the European Commission for regional cohesion has led him to a period of reflection to detect imbalances and enhance cohesion. Fruit of this concern is the Regions 2020; document that listed the challenges to which is going to face the European Union (UE) in the coming years. One of them is the demographic vulnerability because it affects the rates of aging, dependency, unemployment, poverty and other social indicators, and that turn out to be as compelling as those of a predominantly economic nature are. The aim in this paper is intend to designate what are scenarios of demographic vulnerability in Castilla-La Mancha. We use is its the demographic vulnerability index applied by the UE as an instrument, and by analyzing what your situation in all European and Spanish, as well as of its provinces and municipalities, this being the central aspect of the investigation; on the other hand, you can consider, also, his latest contribution.
