We present in this paper an antenna array using patches with optimized geometry, having an individual a bandwidth greater than 1 GHz with an input impedance of 50 Ω, feeding each one by a novel feeding network modeled as part of the patches array. We propose this antenna array for a satellite communications application, specifically for the transmission and reception of the operating bands of the Mexican Morelos III satellite. The satellite has an uplink band ranging from 1.6265 GHz to 1.6455 GHz and a downlink band ranging from 1.525 GHz to 1.544 GHz, so a bandwidth of 200 MHz is required.
