With this objective in mind, empirical and theoretical elements were added to the discourses on the current transformations in the digital world. The article summarizes a hacktivism research in Mexico carried out from the frameworks of collective action and narrative research. The document, questioning the virtuality of the Internet, describes its walled gardens and uses the idea of extractivism to explain the process of data collection by technology companies, concluding with proposing to study the Internet from the social sciences as cyber-territory.

Keywords : social movements; territory; the Internet; hacktivism; extractivism.
