Abstract

ROSETE VERGES, Fernando Antonio et al. Transversality in mexican biodiversity conservation public policies: COINBIO and Mesoamerican Biological Corridor. Econ. soc. territ [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.67, pp.775-802.  Epub Apr 25, 2022. ISSN 2448-6183.  https://doi.org/10.22136/est20211660.

The goal of this investigation is to identify elements and attributes for the establishment of interinstitutional and intersectoral collaboration strategies based on the analysis of two biodiversity conservation case studies: COINBIO and the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor. Both cases highlight the importance of local adoption and crosscutting implementation. They share the participation of local communities and their incorporation into formal decision-making spaces, contributing proposals for solving environmental problems, and for the design and implementation of public policies related to regional community development based on collaboration.

Keywords : environmental governance; interinstitutional coordination; rural communities; sustainable development; intersectoral implementation.
