Abstract

NUNEZ, Juan Manuel. Spatial analysis of urban green spaces in Mexico City. Econ. soc. territ [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.67, pp.803-833.  Epub Apr 25, 2022. ISSN 2448-6183.  https://doi.org/10.22136/est20211661.

Urban green spaces offer potential to provide ecosystem services regardless of management of authorities. Different data sources, definitions, time periods, and scales pose challenges for preparation of urban green spaces inventories that facilitate the integral management of cities green infrastructure. This work presents a spatial analysis approach to know dynamics of urban green space based on the available Urban Green Spaces Mexico City Inventories. Results confirm an increase in the number of green areas managed by the authorities but a greater loss in private and informal green spaces.

Keywords : urban green space; spatial analysis; sustainability.
