Abstract

CORONA AMBRIZ, Alejandro; PEREZ-ELIZALDE, Sergio  and  PEREZ-RODRIGUEZ, Paulino. Bayesian spatial analysis of the municipal Human Development Index, Oaxaca, 2010: a measure of efficiency. Econ. soc. territ [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.69, pp.631-659.  Epub Oct 16, 2022. ISSN 2448-6183.  https://doi.org/10.22136/est20221748.

This article presents a Bayesian geostatistical model for the analysis of the distribution of the Human Development Index (HDI) at the municipal level in Oaxaca, 2010. The model considers fixed effects (covariates: water, drainage and electricity indicators) and spatial effects, which are assumed to follow a conditional autoregressive process. The results indicate that the HDI is influenced by spatial factors. Furthermore, groupings of municipalities were identified that allowed to know the distribution of the HDI in the state. This confirms the need to consider the spatial factors as a fundamental element in the study of social phenomena.

Keywords : human development index; spatial effects; Gumbel II; Bayesian; efficiency.
