Abstract

ESTEVEZ LESTON, Bárbara. Mechanisms of territorial inequality and conditions on the first occupational insertion in AMBA, Argentina. Econ. soc. territ [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.70, pp.893-920.  Epub Nov 14, 2022. ISSN 2448-6183.  https://doi.org/10.22136/est20221833.

This study addresses the effects of the territory on the first job of those who inhabit, in their adulthood, the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The data used comes from a probabilistic survey developed by the Research Programme on Social Class Analysis (IIGG-UBA) in 2015-2016. Through a statistical analysis strategy in two stages (descriptive and inferential) we concluded that territorial dimension influences stratification processes by conditioning access and modifying gaps in access to a first job, in agreement with social class of origin.

Keywords : first job; social class; territory; social stratification.
