Abstract

CALDERON VILLARREAL, Cuauhtémoc; NUNEZ MEDINA, Gerardo  and  HERNANDEZ BIELMA, Leticia. Modeling the relative overpopulation in the state of Chiapas: bayesian spatial analysis. Econ. soc. territ [online]. 2023, vol.23, n.71, pp.159-183.  Epub Mar 17, 2023. ISSN 2448-6183.  https://doi.org/10.22136/est20231968.

The objective of this paper was to identify spatial distribution patterns of relative overpopulation, measured through the economically active population and migration in localities of the state of Chiapas in the year 2020. Exploratory spatial data analysis techniques and latent Gaussian models were applied, and the immigration rate was used as a covariate in two different empirical models. The models were fitted using the R-INLA package. The results suggest the existence of a set of spatial clusters and/or groupings of EAP around the capital of the state of Chiapas.

Keywords : labor market; gaussian models; spatial distribution; Chiapas.
