This paper analyzes female protagonism in the defense of the territory vis-à-vis two hydroelectrical megaprojects in the Sierra Norte of Puebla. Data was obtained through the systematization of secondary sources and interviews conducted with 18 women and 10 men belonging to various organizations. Using a Feminist Political Ecology framework, the paper analyzes women’s conception of the territory, the ways they have developed to defend it and the meanings that they give to their participation.

Keywords : gender; megaprojects; feminist political ecology; extractivism.
