GALINDO PEREZ, Mateo Carlos; REYES GARCIA, Víctor Alfonso  and  SUAREZ LASTRA, Manuel. Location of clinics and hospitals in the road hierarchy in Mexico City. Econ. soc. territ [online]. 2023, vol.23, n.73, pp.809-840.  Epub Nov 13, 2023. ISSN 2448-6183.  https://doi.org/10.22136/est20232015.

A decisive factor to boost accesibility to health service is to consider centrality and evaluate road type in order to locate medical units. The objective this study was to analyze the location of the medical units of the three main health institutions of Mexico City: IMSS, ISSSTE and Sedesa. From the calculation of location coefficients there is a preference for locating clinics and hospitals on the main roads and avenues. Most public transport routes run within 200 meters of medical units.

Keywords : medical units; location; viality; transport routes.
