Abstract

GALLO, Adriana. Partidos hegemónicos y organización intrapartidaria: Un análisis comparado entre el PRI y el Peronismo. Cuest. Const. [online]. 2007, n.17, pp.85-113. ISSN 1405-9193.

This paper is a comparative study about the Institutional Revolutionary Party of Mexico and the Justicialista Party of Argentina, focusing in the way that sort out the party candidacy disputes. Both parties turn to citizens will, arguing that with their participation in internal elections, party structures will be democratic and the citizen's involvement will increase their in decisions. Argentina adopted an internal regulation and elections did not carry out in practice, whereas in Mexico, PRI carried out these elections in an unilateral way and without any regulation. Anyway in both cases, beyond the democratization of party structures, these collapsed, the split party increased, and the relation among civil society and political sphere become worse.

Keywords : Hegemonic parties; internal elections; democratization.
