Abstract

MORA-DONATTO, Cecilia. Opposition and Parliamentary Control in Mexico. Cuest. Const. [online]. 2010, n.23, pp.121-151. ISSN 1405-9193.

One of the main challenges faced by the Mexican Congress is to consolidate a co-responsible parliamentary opposition, which contributes with legislative power to become a collaborating and supervising organ working as a balance for the Federal Executive Power. In other words, an opposition helping build the great agreements needed by the Mexican State. In order to reach such target, what could be known as the Statute of the opposition, meaning the group of instruments which the parliamentary opposition constitutionally counts on to become a serious and responsible one, is analyzed in the current work.

Keywords : Mexican Congress; Parliamentary Opposition; Checks and Balances; Separation of Powers.
